Today we sorted a variety of objects by material and then by the type of object.
Dear parents and carers.
I’ll be out of class today, as I’m on a training course. Miss. D will be with the class all day. I’ll be back with the class on Friday as usual.
We continued our science topic of materials today learning about the properties of different types of paper and which type of paper is suitable for different purposes. We did this by putting small amounts of water on the different paper to see how well it was absorbed or not.
Today we continued our religious studies project looking at Christianity. We learned all about baptism today. We also did some lovely singing.
We used a structure called sage and scribe to practice subtracting on a number line.
We have been learning how to subtract by crossing out.
Last week we wrote an email to Damon’s Aunty and Uncle who own and run a recycling company! We got a response, with an inbuilt challenge!
Dear Mr. Ellis, Damon and the rest of 1ME
Thank you very much for your email and kind words.
We are glad to hear that you like our work.
You can also do something good for the environment and recycle plastic waste in your class.
If you manage to collect 2 kilos of plastic waste we will reward you with a 3d printed object for your classroom. You can choose between a vase, a stool or a shelf for your books. Which object would you prefer?
Looking forward to hearing from you

We’ve been making some great art work today using objects made from wood, metal and plastic
